Celebrating the best in romantic fiction

The Pure Passion Awards are re-branded and expanded from the Romantic Novelists’ Association in their 50th anniversary year. There are now 3 key awards: Romantic Novel of the Year, Rom-com Novel of the Year & the People's Choice Novel of the year,which is voted for by the public at www.lovereading.co.uk/purepassion

The ceremony also includes the Romantic Film release of the year and Love Story of the year. It is featured on TV and in the national media.

All award shortlists for 2010 were announced on the 11th February and it was supported by a full instore promotion produced by Agile Marketing under the ‘2010 Pure Passion Awards’ banner. All shortlisted titles have been stickered with the official logo. Posters and official consumer magazines have also been produced and distributed to bookshops and libraries, featuring all the shortlisted titles and authors in all categories.

The winners for 2010 were as follows:
Romantic Comedy of the Year – The Nearly-weds by Jane Costello
(Simon & Schuster)
Romantic Novel of the Year – Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts by Lucy Dillon (Hodder)
The People’s Choice Award – Missing You by Louise Douglas (Pan Macmillan)
Romantic Film of the Year – An Education by Lynn Barber (Penguin)
Love Story of the Year – Animal Instincts by Nell Dixon (Little Black Dress)
The Harry Bowling Prize for New Writers - Winner: Debbie Johnson, Runner-Up: John Barfield.
There were also 2 lifetime achievement awards which went to Maeve Binchy and Joanna Trollope
