Romantic Novelists’ Association Awards (RoNAs)

The RoNAs: are an annual promotion to celebrate the very best in romantic fiction. For 2012 they begin on the 10th February, with the first of a three phase campaign timed to coincide with Mother’s Day promotions.
Says Katie Fforde, President of the Romantic Novelists’ Association:
“After the success of the awards since our 50th Anniversary in 2010, we have reviewed the format and with the advice of retailers, altered the format to ensure the greatest possible exposure to the reading pubic.”
Key dates and details are as follows:
Shortlist phase – 10th February to 5th March 2012 – to feature 25 shortlisted titles in five categories:
• Contemporary romance
• Epic romance
• Historical romance
• Romantic comedy
• Young adult romance
Category winners’ phase – 6th March to 17th May 2012 – this will feature the winning title from each category in time for Mother’s Day retail promotions. Category-winning titles will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held on Monday 5th March 2012 at the Gladstone Library at One Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HD. And finally, the Romantic Novel of the Year, chosen from the five category winners, will be revealed on 17th May 2012 at the RNA Summer Party.
