The TV Book Club Chart Success
News: The TV Book Club is making its mark on the charts as three of its titles have landed themselves in the Top Ten Bestseller list. The Little Stranger, Sacred Hearts and Juliet, Naked, all of which were reviewed on the More4 and Channel 4 show in recent weeks, have all swept into The Sunday Times bestseller list since they were featured on the programme, hosted by Jo Brand, Gok Wan, Dave Spikey, Laila Rouass and Nathaniel Parker.
The ghostly The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters, the first book to be reviewed by the panel, has claimed 8th spot, whilst Nick Hornby’s sixth novel Juliet, Naked follows up in 9th place. Meanwhile, Sacred Hearts, the haunting story of a convent in 18th century Italy, by Sarah Dunant, completes the Top 10 immediately after being featured on the show.
From the creators of the Richard and Judy Book Club, The TV Book Club, funded by Specsavers, has a shortlist that is claiming its place in the literary landscape once again. As Amanda Ross, creator of the TV Book Club, comments, "I'm delighted to see that our viewers are continuing to engage with the titles we choose for them - we're thrilled at the response to the TV Book Club, and pleased to see all the authors we mention enjoy a sales uplift - from debut authors to established names. All ten books are the most fabulous read and will appeal to a great variety of people, and the TV Book Club is certainly playing its part in getting these books to the wider audience they all deserve”.
